You know you missed these threads.
I just spent a shitload of money on spring bulbs and orchids. I can't buy anything else this year, I spent way too much. Yes, on plants.![Big Grin :D :D](/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
First, crocus. Small flowers, the first to bloom in spring:

These guys are often called grape hyancinth, they're also low growing and one of the first to bloom:

Some anemone, more small flowers. I tried them last year and screwed them up so I'm going to try again:

I decided to get some asiatic lilies this year, which I've never really done before. Spot at OTC got me thinking about these when he posted his own pics. This first one reminded me of the Plumeria that I grew this summer:

And now for the tulilps...
I got some interesting looking ones that don't even look like tulips really. I think both the colors will look nice together:

Almost none of my red tulips bloomed this year so I had to get some more to replace them. These are a little special because they have ruffled edges and are almost a little orange:

...and finally, the tulip I fell in love with. "Tulipa Shirley" it's called. The description on the site: A child of the '60s, Shirley opens yellow with raspberry-red highlights and changes to ivory-white with ever-changing edges and flecks of pale purple which spread as the flower matures.
Doesn't that sound great? The picture is even better:

That's it for spring stuff. I'll go find my orchid stuff and post it. I ordered from Hawaii again Ku'u... This time from "Exotic Orchids of Maui". Damned if you guys don't have all the good flowers. It's not fair, I tells ya.![Wink ;) ;)](/images/smilies/wink.gif)
