I have a 90 mercury sable wagon. 3.0 v6. The airbag light is blinking. it blinks 8 times stops and then blinks 8 times again.
At the same time this is happening the battery is draining. Im on the 2nd battery now. Whats this mean?

Well The sable has died...Still dont know why the light was flashing.

A little piece of black tape over that flashing light will make sure that it never bothers you again.

It sounds like an electrical short. Don't give up on the Sable. Those are good cars.

Well,
Battlecruiser Sable Is ALIVE....

After doing some testing with my trusty fluke. I was able to determine that my alternator was not working. So i pulled it out and took it to the nearest autozone for more testing.
Once there and further testing decided it was shot.
So i spent another 75.00 and reinstalled the bugger.
Now she is running.
We'll see how long this time.....
