WinMgmt starts incessantly crashing every time I open the Services console

Every time I open the Services console (under Administrative tools), WinMgmt.exe crashes, and every 5 minutes after that, it crashes again. It never stops until I reboot, and it's really annoying. I left it on overnight once to see if the crashes would ever stop, but instead they filled up with hundreds of crash notifications on my desktop

I don't know what I did to deserve this, except maybe disliking how unstable Win2k is.

Backup and reinstall, either you windows install is toast, or somethings fishy with the hardware, Win 2k is extremely stable, you got service pack 2 etc?

boot up in safemode with networking and try Services console
if it crashes reinstall windows if not try repairing

reinstalling fresh is best in hs situation imho, cause hes been having lots of issues with the install, a repair might just be a temporary ward off to the issues.

that can be true if the win reg is at fault, if its just a cpl or dll file a refresh of core files will fix the prob

SP2, yes... fully up to date at Windblows Update as far as I remember.

And no, it's not stable. Nothing's ever stable when I'm using it.
