OMG i dont think it would actually fit into a normal size case.

Sure it will. Anything can be made to fit anywhere by those with the proper tools

Dual 6800U gpus with 256mB (each) ram. Visions of the V5-6000 anyone?

...although I'd venture to guess my entire system, including a single GeForce 6800 with 128MB, cost less than that card.

I, meanwhile, am still kinda questioning myself for spending $270 on a video card when I don't play very many games.

I do play a few, frequently, and I still can't see it. I had palpitations buying the 9800 Pro.

I might upgrade my vanilla 6800; still got it at a good price ($250).

Maybe one of those new 512mB cards? I hope they still make em AGP.

The reason I got the base 6800 is because it was close to, if not the, best AGP card I could find at Newegg.

So which one did you get?

I got the BFG 6800 O/C (with 2 fans). A decent performer, but kinda loud with the 2 fans.

Nice; What do you get in Doom 3 @ 1280x1024, HQ, 2xAA/8xAF? I get 54 fps.

Also if your card came with 12p and 5v pipelines, you can unlock the 6th vertex pipeline with no problems; I did have problems unlocking the 4 addition pixel pipelines so I had to put it back to 12. :(

I'm not much of a gamer... that's why I occasionally question myself for spending $270 on a video card.

Thank you sir. I got 24 FPS on the 9600 XT running 1024x768 High Qual 2xAA No AF. On normal gaming it's playable at this settings though. And Open GL games are not the field of ATi...
