Self-defence vs. Vigilantiesm (Where to draw the legal line)

Obviously...different places will have different definitions/interpretations of the law and the line between the two. Where would you draw the line ?

I draw it right about knee level.

I guess the same line that a police officer would have to walk... When you have no doubt that your life is in danger... A gun pointed at you, someone charging you with a knife. Stuff like that.

self defense: protecting yourself or those you care about
