Saw A.I. and the Sony robot dog this weekend

Yep, saw the movie A.I. on Saturday and then saw Sony's newest robot dog at the Metreon on Sunday. The dog seemed to take a liking to a little girl that was watching the demonstration.

The thing is pretty amazing, and after seeing that movie it makes me wonder how far robots will advance in the near future. It's interesting how in the movie a large portion of robots are "Lover" robots. Sort of similar to how porn has fueled the internet expansion.

Heh well, I'm still not sure what my review of the movie is. It started off very well. I think a whole movie could have been done without the robot boy ever leaving the house.

It did get me thinking about robots though and even more after I saw the Sony dog.

The dog is amazing. Watching it play with a ball and interact with the girl was pretty cool. The thing has a camera inside which it uses to identify diffent objects. It could also can be set to guard the house and it will take pictures of anything that moves. You can also send it commands from your PC and take snapshots of anything it's looking at.

Yeah, you're right. It did start off well.

Did they say how much that doggie is? He looks really cool, but my real dogs don't like Techno, I think they would wanna kick that guys butt.
