The guy was faking like he was going to throw at the time. There is no way he was trying to pass the ball. It was a fumble. That ref is a retard.

Sure, ignore it. Great idea. Let all of the charlatans have their way and maybe some poor guy who isn't quite as bright as,
bet more than he can afford on inflated claims, and end up losing his
house, car, family----even his life. And don't tell me that it doesn't happen and that nobody is
that stupid. I have lived in Vegas and have seen exactly what I just
described happen---up to the loss of a life. So just try to get rid of me.
Yeah, I'm a crusader, son.

ahhh, it sucks being ripped off by instant replay. Now you know how it felt to be a Browns fan earlier this year!!

There's next year Raiders.

Don't bet on it. Not THIS team. Rice is 40. Tim Brown & Rich Gannon are mid 30's, Steve Wisniewski is retiring. They are too old to continue, as is.

Raiders won the game, no doubt about it.

I was up in Tahoe watching the game in my hotel room. I got so pissed off after seeing that call and then watvhing the raiders let the clock run out with two timeouts left that i shut the game off and went out to the Casino. We walk in the Casino and i hear this lady saying "I'm so happy!, the Raiders just lost!". I wanted to throw something at her.

Fumble.

There was a full story this morning n the paper explaining the call & showing the rule. It is still close, because I think he put the ball away, but it appears that it may have been a bullshit, albeit correct, call.

They may change the rule now:rolleyes:

NFL Rule 3, Section 21, Article 2

Note 2: When a Team A player is holding the ball to pass it forward, any intentional forward movement of his arm starts a forward pass, even if the player loses possession of the ball as he is attempting to tuck it back toward his body. Also, if the player has tucked the ball into his body and then loses possession, it is a fumble.

I read about the official justification...seems like you should be atempting to pass inorder to have a incomplete pass occur.

It eventually loaded, but it took a while. Also, just a couple of days ago, at the second day of walk-on tryouts for the NIU football team, another football fatality was recorded. :(

(02/02/02 - Dekalb) -- A student who was trying out for the Northern Illinois University football team has died after collapsing during conditioning drills. The school says 19 year-old Jawan Jackson of Robbins had been running sprints with the football team when he collapsed early yesterday morning.

Found here.

Here's the story from there, in its entirety:

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The scene was jubilant - a dream come true for a loyal New England Patriots fan like Michael Downing.
His beloved team had just capped an improbable comeback to defeat the Oakland Raiders in one of the most memorable playoff games in NFL history.

Just seconds later, as his family cheered amid the bedlam at snowy Foxboro Stadium, Downing collapsed of a heart attack and died.

"It was just like we were so pumped, so high, from them winning, and then we turned around and it was just bang!" said son Tim Downing. "We went from ultimate high to ultimate low within a second."

Downing, 65, had been standing in snowy conditions the entire evening as his Patriots attempted to advance to the AFC championship game. But late in the game at Foxboro, Mass., he started to feel sick and sat down.

With the Patriots trailing 10 points after the third quarter, Downing was convinced a loss was imminent. But the team rallied and, improbably, won in overtime on a field goal by Adam Vinatieri.

Downing's two sons, son-in-law and grandson began to celebrate.

"We celebrated for maybe 10 seconds," Tim Downing said. "I turned around and looked, and he was slumped over."

A doctor attending the game arrived quickly, followed by emergency medical technicians, but Downing was pronounced dead a short time later at Norwood Hospital.

Family members said Downing was a burly, confident man with a passionate devotion to his family. He died surrounded by people who loved him and cheering for his Patriots, they said.

Saturday's game was the last that will be ever played in Foxboro Stadium. The Patriots' next game is Sunday in Pittsburgh, and next season they will occupy a new stadium under construction next door.

I dare you to read all that and still maintain your posting pace. I did! :hmm:

OMG that sucks :(

At least he died around his loved ones, and died cheering for a great football game.

The Pats won the super bowl and they are the best...the Raiders had ample opportunity to win the game after that bad call...bad calls happen.....deal with it...the right team won......

Bullshit, it was fixed. Had ample opportunity? 1 play for a FG & the Patys won the coin toss in OT & kicked a FG in the snow. It was an NFL setup because of the name. Call Fox Mulder, he knows.:eh:
