Here are a few shots from the rim of LaConte Crater. This is the third day. Cold front moved in but no rain came from it. Relief from the pounding sun, but no rain.

Here is the base of the crater. About a 800 foot incline at about 60 degrees. Missy said here heart felt like it was going to burst when she got to the top.

This is the crater itself:

Here is a shot of the Middle Sister. Although the shortest of the three, she's also the widest. Thus she's the most climbed. I got a few of her with the panoramic camera and no clouds. Those pics will be available in a few weeks. :) Look at this picture carefully. At the base of the mountain is the lava flows. Very awesome and vary massive. Obsidian and lava rock.

Here is a shot of Mt. Bachlor:

And here are a few of the skyline:

And of course, a shot of the three of us. Taken from Wickip Plain by our partner Bruce:

Here's a shot of Obsidian Falls. Very cool.

Here is a shot of a cold water spring. The actual head waters themselves. :) The little black area in the center of the circle is gravel the was churning along as water was being pushed up out of the earth. Very wierd looking and very ****ing cold.

Nice pics. What kind of camera did you use to take those shots with? And where is Laconte Crater located?

LaConte Crater is just south of the South Sister. The camera is a older Fuji MX-1200. Not bad considering I got it at cost though. Lokking into a Nikon or Olympas higher end one now.
