Looks like I won't be getting DSL.

Even though, when I ordered it, I was initially told I was 12,000 feet away from the CO, the vendor meet (where a DSL guy and a phone technician come out to the site to perform diagnostics) finished up this morning and I was told that, while the phone line pretty much tested very well and all the diagnostics fell well within specifications, except that I have somehow moved 10,900 feet farther away than what I was originally told. I am 22,900 feet away from the CO, which is 4,900 feet farther than they can support ADSL (18,000)

Oh well.

Is cable internet available?? If not, the solution is obvious.....move next to the CO.

I can't get it either. And "never will in that area". and I work of a sub of the friggen phone company too.
