How do you pick a DSL provider?

Everyone at my work who has DSL has PacBell. I don't really like the idea of trying to call PacBell for service, I've had enough trouble with the phone.

Plus I'm trying to see if I can get a better deal.

I'm not sure how to tell what's available in my area.

I'm going to miss my cable modem. :(

why? what's happening to your cable modem. I'm thinking of getting DSL myself now that shaw@home bumped me over to rogers@home. I hate rogers@home so much that I can't type it here.

These reviews make pacbell and telocity (two providers I know of here) look pretty bad.

Holy shit! Look at the wait times! I'm going to be screwed for a while at home.

Try Bayarea.net. That's my provider. They got me running a week earlier than scheduled.

Who in their right minds would ever go back to dial up once they've had DSL or cable?

Money issues maybe ok but just to go back neverrrrrrrrrrrrr!
