Gainesville elementary school principal Lacy Redd, 34, was boating on the Suwannee River over the Memorial Day weekend when a sturgeon, some 5 to 6 feet long and between 130 and 150 pounds, leaped into her family's boat and knocked her out. She suffered a collapsed lung and five broken ribs.

Catfish kills and eats swan

A GIANT catfish which trapped and killed a SWAN is being hunted in a nature reserve lake.

Sonar experts have spent four days tracking the beast — thought to be 8ft long and weigh 11st. Several sightings have been reported.

oops, sorry, a stone equals 14 pounds, so that catfish is aboot 155 pounds

I live very near Guntersville Dam on the Tennessee River. I have heard stories of divers inspecting the dam and seeing two big eyes in the cubby holes
