Detonator drivers?

Well I finally replaced my old Voodoo Banshee by a GF 4 MX. I have heard about this Detonator drivers all my life but I still can't understand for what is used. Can I install them instead o f the standar NVidia Drivers, or should I install both? I installed the CD packet but I cant run this thing at 800x600

Just go to nvidia's site and download the latest reference drivers for your operating system.

Detonator is just the name they give them.

I did that. 13 MB thru 56k. Took me 1 1/2 hour to download. Working fine now. I just asked because the latest drivers and the "Detonators" are on different links on the page. And have different versions also...
