Have cable? Think it ought to be faster? try this from the PCMag Sept 01, 2000 edition-Internet Solution by Linden DeCarmo
editing the registry:
WIN95/98 -Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP-look for DefaultRcvWindow.
Win2K & NT4 -Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameteres-look for TcpWindowSize
"a receive window of 32767 usually results in the highest performance for both cable & ADSL networks"
other speeds to try is:65535(max value for DefaultRcvWindow or TcpWindowSize unless you have the Winsock2 update), 93440, 186880 or 372300. The actual Max is 2 tothe30th power, or 1073741824..
it sped up mine to a max of 3900Kb/sec.
