Any of you Windows gurus got an explanation for this?

Now that I'm on XP, I have a completely new problem with the taskbar. I'll let the screenshot speak for itself.

Hmmmm.. your taskbars don't like you very much, do they dude?? :D
What happens if you move it back down to the bottom? Do the full names show up again?
 
Yep, I tried that, autohiding the taskbar, resizing the taskbar, unlocking the taskbar, rebooting, doing a system restore, etc...

I'm probably going to build a new system from scratch. This one has got something wrong with it internally, because you just can't screw up every OS you install on it without something being horribly wrong.
