I can't even get that far Inky; it just does nothing right when I click get updates. No modem activity at all. Oh well, guess I'll just stick with ad-aware and check back every so often...

I've been trying a better part of a week to get these updates. Tried all mirrors with no luck in downloading them; is there somewhere else to get them?

No, it is an Astra 2000U. I might consider an all-in-1 solution Prof since I also want to replace this pos printer as well (but at least that still works). My opinion about Umax changed when they wanted to charge for driver updates (thankfully, their European colleagues don't).

This pos Umux scanner is having some serious h/w problems; anyone have a suggestion for a replacement?
