Need some sort of page layout software

I need to know what I can use as a page layout software. Something that would be used for laying out magazine page or book pages with pictures and text.

Anyone know of anything?
 
Well you could use adobe pagemaker,illustrator, microshaft publisher,
and im sure theres more but those are what i could think of this early in the morning.
 
Well crap, I actually have Illustrator I have never got around to learning it. I guess it might be a good time now.
 
Adobe Pagemaker 6.5 and QuarkXpress 4.1 are the real big guns for DTP layout and both are supported on MAC/PC platforms and imagesetters.

I like the new bomber-- Adobe Indesign 1.5, interface is cool and can open QuarkX files. I'm learning it lately. ;)

I use Photoshop, Corel and Painter on my logo/pix editing and design.

One good thing on QuarkXpress is you have to install once and a multi-OS rig can run it without re-installing.
