Intel flaw?

It seems that on every last Intel motherboard I have ever worked on or built a system around, you cannot disable the COM ports through the BIOS. You can disable them, but they pop right back up in Windows. Sure, you can disable them in Windows, but that's kinda stupid. Why is it that Intel has done this? Maybe I'm blaming the wrong company and should be blaming Phoenix, their BIOS supplier, but on other boards with Phoenix BIOS's in them I can disable the COM ports just fine. It's only Intel boards that I cannot really disable them.

Yes you can. all it takes is a big flat blade screwdriver. Trust me, they'll stay disabled. And since Intel won't be building boards to match 'til next year, you can charge them for an upgrade too.:D
