San Diego outfielder Mike Darr was one of two men killed early Friday when the vehicle they were riding in rolled over on an interstate highway in Arizona. Darr was 25. Police said Darr, who was driving, and the front-seat passenger were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected, and that alcohol appeared to be a factor in the accident. Minor-league pitcher Ben Howard was treated and released at the scene; police said he was in the back seat and wearing a seat belt. Darr hit .277 in 105 games with the Padres in 2001. He is survived by his wife and two children.

That's too bad. The selfishness of some people can be amazing. Can you imagine what his wife and 2 children are going through right now? :cry2:

yes, youd think with all the public awarness being made about drinking and driving people would get smart.

People already are smart. Very smart. A lot of times, they just don't give a shit to take the precautions necessary.

They mistakenly think that it'll "never happen to me" and then the next thing you know, you're thrown through the windshield and tossed about 20 feet because you were keeping your eye on your beer instead of on the road.

yup, fury's right...and the "it won't happen to me thing" seems to apply to everybody evenly....unfortunately a buncha money won't save you if you go around doing stupid things.

drinking+driving+not wearing a seat belt=retarded:smash:
