San Diego outfielder Mike Darr was one of two men killed early Friday when the vehicle they were riding in rolled over on an interstate highway in Arizona. Darr was 25. Police said Darr, who was driving, and the front-seat passenger were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected, and that alcohol appeared to be a factor in the accident. Minor-league pitcher Ben Howard was treated and released at the scene; police said he was in the back seat and wearing a seat belt. Darr hit .277 in 105 games with the Padres in 2001. He is survived by his wife and two children.
