Dee Dee Ramone, Rock Singer and Artist, Dies at 49

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Singer Dee Dee Ramone, who co-founded influential 1970s punk rock band the Ramones and went on to become a rap singer, was found dead in his Hollywood home of an apparent drug overdose, officials said on Thursday.
Police reported finding drugs and drug paraphernalia in his apartment after his wife discovered his body Wednesday night. His death came about 14 months after the band's lead singer and co-founder, Joey Ramone, died of lymphoma.
Dee Dee, whose real name was Douglas Glenn Colvin, was pronounced dead by paramedics at 8:40 p.m. PDT (11:40 p.m. EDT), about 15 minutes after his wife called for help, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner's office said.
