You got one yet?
If not, what are you waiting for?! (Not in the literal sense, I mean GO GET IT NOW)
Traded in an old busted computer I bought at Best Buy for store credit and got it & an HDTV.
It is the most refreshing gaming experience I've ever encountered. I would recommend this to my...
Servers will be receiving new, bigger, faster hard drives some time today, and that will mean a short downtime as I move stuff. Not sure when they will do it though. Shouldn't be too long.
Quad-cores are just around the corner anyway, from both Intel and AMD. I'd be more concerned about what each core could do with what amount of juice (and spitting out what amount of heat), though. Quality over quantity and all...
I think Apple did pretty well off with the switch to Intel. Back then, there was all kinds of "No way! Now it'll be slow!" and now they've got every Mac fan eating out of the palm of their hands, especially with all of the banter about how Windows runs better on the Intel Mac than OSX does.
If...
I told you in the original post :P

Complete old-computer emulator. Runs about like a fast 486 or mid-grade Pentium on the latest 2ghz machines.
For me, it's Tyrian. It's an upward-scrolling, space flyer shooter game.
The main attraction I have to the game is the endless possibilities for destruction. You have a wide selection of weapons (several different types for each of a front gun, rear gun, and left and right sidekick weapons or...
Yep, in fact bought a year of SkypeOut access I could use to save cell phone minutes (some months, for some reason, I just hit that dreaded 450, can't really understand why).
It's OK. The call quality is better than on my cell phone, obviously, but having to be anchored to a decent internet...
Good point.
I just miss the days terribly where you could pick up a decent video card for under $100. (trusty ol' Voodoo 3 2000... it let me play Quake 3 at last)
I have an MSN account that I log into from Trillian, but it doesn't do as well with MSN as it does with the others. I can't ever get file transfers to work on Trillian's MSN, and its group conversations are about as pleasant as diving head-first into a pool of nails. Not that group conversations...
Nope, it never did. I use Trillian now, it's been a better ICQ/AIM/Yahoo client than either of the three clients it replaces.
I don't know of any modern equivalent to an ICQ activelist. There's always IRC channels, but people who haven't been using IRC already for a while have too much trouble...
$829? Jeez. You can already play the latest games at max HDTV resolution with all the features turned on with a bargain bin $300 card. And if for some reason that isn't enough, you can buy two of 'em still cheaper than this.
