windows 2000 Ie6 problem

I have google set as my home page.
With ie5, I could just open ie and just start typing to do a search.
Now when I open ie6 it flashes on the taskbar and loses "focus".
So I have to click on the page, or the taskbar link, then type.
I thought there was a way to cut-off that flashing crap, but I
can't remember where to do it, or if it can be done though
conventional means rather than hacking the reg, or using 3rd
party software.

What's the best way to stop this "flashing, focus losing" crap?

Ah nevermind
It was this damn cookie program I was running.
I uninstalled that bastich. I don't think I need it anyway
since ie6 has a better cookie management.
