Now how could I forget.
Just outside of town we have Pfizer's Sandwich Uk base. Home of Viagra.
They employ around 5,500 so they possibly outnumber the local inhabitants of the town.

Thanks peeps. Sandwich is a pretty town but short on amenities for the youngsters luckily Dover and Canterbury are less than half an hour away and we are served by regular train and busses.
One thing Kent does have going for it is the number of historical sites for touriists.
Icing on the cake for us is miles of unspoilt non commercialised beaches less than a mile and a half.
And yes br0ck I am still a tree hugger m8e, each to his own.

Sandwich? As in Earl of Sandwich? The one Hawai'i (the Sandwich Isles) was named after a century or so ago?

I do believe your islands were named after them Kuulanni. I'm not positive though.Anyway I like the newer name far better.
Prof ever drive through again let me know and I'll treat you to a pint of Scrumpy Jack.
Good place to stop and rest up a bit before heading for The Smoke.

Yes and no m8ee. Kent is being torn apart by road and rail improvements(?)because of the cross chanel rail link and growing ferry traffic. Also it's a bummer when your local exchange can't offer broadband and due to planning restrictions we have no cable.
On the other side what's left of Old Kent is still beautiful(not a very manly word but the only one that fits). And being able to spend a day on an unspoilt beach in the summer is a real bonus.
