Actually I haven't really decided yet. My next "big" purchase will be either dual Palomino's or dual Northwoods, but at the moment I'm leaning towards the Northwoods.
Noite: They will have the same socket format, they will just have a bit different architecture. Meaning, some current motherboards will still be able to use them (I think the KT7a is unofficially confirmed to already accept Palomino/Morgan CPUs)
majorDad: Want a thousand page novel to read while it loads Windows?
Q: Yup Palomino ~= Athlon 4, btw. There is another name for the Palomino, the Athlon MP. It is expensive though (don't know why... it should be cheaper to make than a T-bird) and is geared towards servers
Gonzo: That would probably be the Duron. You can get a 700mhz Duron for $24 (plus shipping) and then overclock them to near 1ghz
Or you could get a T-bird 1 gig for $81 plus shipping, and possibly overclock it to 1.33 or more
