Stupid question about icq

Thought I would go ahead and install it after my fun with xp over the weekend. But I was surprised to see after finishing installing it, all my contacts were in my list. How did it know who was in my contact list especially after a reformat/reinstall?

Ahhh...that's what I thought. But I do remember a time when you had to back that up. At least aol got that right!

yeah. I remember copying the databse to a another drive before doing a reinstall.
