Stop eating junk food, fury

fury is getting too fat. (~6'5" 290lbs)

He'd appreciate some, or preferrably a lot of tips on what to do. His goal is to lose at least 30lbs, preferrably 50 or more.

Currently, his diet consists of lots of carbonated sugar water, candy bars, and other extremely fattening junk food

He rarely exercises or does anything that really requires much energy (but is willing to start). He does know that starving himself is not the way to go because after he starts eating again, his body will store it all as body fat in case he decides to stop eating again.

He also knows that he probably looks like a <table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr><td style="filter:glow">nut case :spin:</td></tr></table> referring to himself in the third person here, but he really doesn't give a crap

Thanks in advance.

calorie base should be reduced. Activity level should be raised. Start taking a multivitamin. Chill out of the mass consumtion of caffeine. Follow what Ive already told Pad in the other thread.
If you actually greatly increase your activity level and start doing free weights, you need to consume a gram of protein per day of assumed lean body weight. Probably about 220 in your case. Chicken and turkey is best. Avoid the red meats as its too fatty.

If you really want to go off of the deep end and do what the stars do to trim out. Consume no wheat or dairy... goodbye pizza and pasta... hello steamed carrotts. It will take your body a good 6 weeks to get the message and start to really consistently lose weight over time.

I was specifically told to stay away from carrots and bananas .... too starchy.

Fury, do what Jarrad did, eat two veggie subs on wheat (no oil or mayo) with about 2 quarts of water and walk four miles a day.
