Eidos sends word that its upcoming action sequel, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, developed by IO Interactive has a new ship date of September 2002. Additional time is being given to the development team to make improvements.

You return as 47, an assassin with a bar code on the back of his head, for another twenty-one missions of stealth and death. Missions take you around the globe: Italy, St. Petersburg, Japan, North Africa, and Malaysia. Featuring a new engine, many gameplay issues have been resolved. The interface has been simplified and improved, you can play in both first- and third-person views, you can now store equipment you find instead of having to purchase it, and mission briefings and hints have been made more comprehensive. Several new weapons have been added, like the crossbow, and the use of disguise made more complex.
