:eh: Not one but two?!

What started out as a suicide attempt has taken another odd turn. When 51-year old Ralph McEwen jumped from the overpass of Clark Boulevard and Highway 410 in Brampton early Wednesday, he clearly meant to take his own life. But police now say that when the victim landed on the road in the darkness, he was struck by not one but two hit and run drivers.

Investigators had been looking for a small grey vehicle, possibly a Honda or a Volkswagen Jetta. Witnesses saw a driver hit the body, stop briefly, get out of his car, look at the victim, then drive off. But now police believe another motorist in a white van may also have struck McEwen as he lay motionless on the roadway. That person also fled the scene of the accident. Police are looking for both cars, either of which could have suffered damage as a result of the impact.

The victim lived alone and was believed to be depressed. Autopsy results show he died from major head trauma
