Suprisingly, you dont need a dsl. My friend is on everyday whith a 56k and a FREE isp. Sometimes he gets lag, but not often. Starcraft is another story though...

Im pretty sure you can play, i play on USeast, i can also play on uswest if i felt like it. Your just supposed use the one closest to you for the best connection.
