I prefer the TNG crew and cast, but it's time for a killer movie-no Capt Kirk or another unknown species that has "plastic" skin. Nor any more stupid time travel crap-they've worn that down to a stub of originality.
Maybe a good old Klingon/Romulan/Borg/Federation tension buildup with a surprise thrown in. And, imo, MORE ship shots-the people are only a subplot anyway-have they forgotten that?
