can I get a nice big DOH :retard:

This was something like the way Apple announced the Radeon before it was actually supposed to be released, and so they punished them by only supplying them with Rage cards. Wonder if nVidia will only supply Asus with TNT2's now

little more info on the chipset.

Geforce4 ti 4600

core speed 300MHz

memory speed 660Hz

bandwidth 10.4 GB/sec

file rate 4.9 billion samples

RAM 128MB DDR

GeForce4 is mainly a speed, not a process, upgrade for gamers.
But it will make the games look better and smoother, and who doesnt want that.
Price is expected to be around 349.00

GeForce4 4600 is the NV25
the MX versions are using the NV17

Damn, that's some BITCHIN memory bandwidth. :retard:

In all seriousness, the clock specs on the card look pretty nice, but since it's mainly a speed ramp, couldn't they've just called it the Geforce 3 Ultra? Maybe the Geforce 3.5?

If I remember correctly, the transition from the TNT2 to the original Geforce to the Geforce2 GTS and to the Geforce3, each new product line release brought a load of new features for game developers to use, and was more than just a speed increase, like from the TNT to the TNT2 was.

Does anyone know where there's a full spec sheet on the GF4 and how many new features it contains?

Well duh, it's a whole different architecture than the GF2. And it's only faster when the game doesn't make extensive use of T&L

*waits for the Radeon 3*

The GF4 (nv25) has a second pipeline for something, like the X-box. The GF4MX (nv17 only has one I think)

So essentially, it's about half as fast as the Geforce4?

Basically, most crippling thing is the slow speed memory. At high rez, a GF3 may well be faster. OR course these MX's will be very cheap.
