Basically, most crippling thing is the slow speed memory. At high rez, a GF3 may well be faster. OR course these MX's will be very cheap.

The GF4 (nv25) has a second pipeline for something, like the X-box. The GF4MX (nv17 only has one I think)

Sounds like perhaps one of your nics is fuckd, or a loose cable connection. Are you using a crossover cable or a switch/hub?
