The developers could hardly have released a bad game when using the AOE II engine. There is a reason "Age of Kings" is at the top of so many all-time lists. If you didn't get enough of AOE II with the "Conquerors" expansion, or if you would like to continue playing the same game with a new set of pixels, you will find the experience satisfying. Similarly, if you are a "Star Wars" fan who is trying the RTS genre for the first time, "Galactic Battlegrounds" is a good choice. It's not the best game LucasArts has ever released, but this title certainly bodes well for the resurgence of LucasArts gaming.

I haven't played AOE II at all, and I don't really think I'm a Star Wars fan to the extent that I will buy anything that has its name on it.

Games that are based on movie franchises don't usually turn out well. Granted, there are exceptions.
