Sports Riots

When did the under 30 crowd take it upon themselves to be duly elected to smash & grab, overturn vehicles, start fires & be general nuisances after a victory or defeat? Outside of race riots, which have some modicum of understandability, there doesn't seem to be a reason to act the fool. It's not quite as prevalent after pro sports victories, but it seems the NCAA has it locked up. What gives?

Collective diffusion of responsibility rules of psychology. The bigger the crowd, the more thinly the blame gets spread. Remember the football game where everyone started hucking snowballs?
