What's the deal with this thing?? Could I shoot faxes right off my hdd?? I have a cable connection, would I have to get a phone modem to plug the fax into? If I do need a phone modem, would I also need to have a dial up acct?

I don't use winFax, I use V3-CallCenter, but I guess
it's the same.
You need a phone-modem, but you don't need a ISP.
You don't need a fax machine at all. The modem works
as a fax machine.
A scanner does come in handy.

If you already have a fax machine, I'm not sure how
you would/could tie that into a computer.

I guess you're not supposed to tie it into the computer:eh: The fax machine doesn't like the answering machine too much, it'd prolly hate the puter. :D

Thanks cat:wave:

i used winfax years ago. i think there are ways to send faxes by internet to real phones nowadays. the advantage to that is that there is no long distance call. i don't know which programs or sites that can do it, but i have read that people are sending faxes that way
