SWM 40 seeking truth
I installed Mandrake 8.1 on my notebook computer and I really like it. It seems to be faster than 8.0 although not quite as fast as 7.1. They have added some new features in the GUI installation to make it even easier and a prompted setup for the GUI desktop during the first time you login. Still playing around with it but I am sure I will be updating my desktop also. The only flaw I found so far is that it would not recognize my 10/100 pcmcia Linksys ethernet card (which worked under 8.0) but it did detect my combo bnc/utp Linksys 10mbps ethernet card without any trouble. Go figure?
