Ooooo. So instead of loosing 120 G to a single disk crash, you can now loose 240 G. Great strategy.

What is the advantage to striping? 2 discs full of the same stuff seems, well, redundant.

less seek time = faster performance as the data is stored in segments between the 2 drives, hence the head dosen't move as much, the data is spread out over two drives and can therefore be accessed much faster than a single drive is able to. Drawback is when one goes it all goes.

Btw, i don't know how it'll be much faster on a daily basis, as the big increases is when editing or using large files.
