Right now the Braves and the Red Sox are your wild card leaders too. Quite a few surprises this year with the Twins, the Cubs, and the Mariners seem to be invincible. A lot of disappointing teams as well such as the White Sox, the Mets, and I'd have to include the Cardinals in as well, they've dropped like a rock the last week or so.

Braves are only one game out. I'm fairly sure we can kick enough ass in the second half to get there.

:retard: is anyone else sickend by this all star crap?? 7 yankees on (Torre picked) and no Cliff Floyd on NL!?!?! and Ripken and Gwynn....what the hell, just cuz theyre old and retiring. they need to start doing this crap scientifically:retard:

The All Star Game is a joke. They have the fans vote for the starters which is worse than giving them a presidential ballot (except in Florida :D), they just vote for their favorite players (even the ads for it say to vote for your favorites, not who you think deserves to go). They can also do it online. Do you think Japan's been stuffing the ballot box for Ichiro? Not that he doesn't deserve to go with the way he's been going insane out there, but it still defeats the purpose of the All Star Game. What if he sucks next year, will he still get tons of votes from Japan and go in place of someone who deserves to go? Also, Cal's not hitting worth a lick this year, but he's starting because he already announced his retirement (gee, do you think he planned it?) and the same for Gwynn. Troy Glaus should be starting at 3rd for the AL, IMO, because he's the best in the AL from my perspective.

well put Stop Laughing...Ichiro was leading vote cuz of thousands of votes from japan...which seems kinda unfair. But i am glad to see Cliff Floyd made it there...though he should be starting. As was said...it is a joke

Gwynn's not starting, probably won't play. And don't worry about next year with Ichiro. the Japanese are pretty fickle about that sort of thing. Remember the frenzy over Hideo Nomo? Don't worry, no one else does either.

All I know is we can get all the offense that they/we want but without pitching we're still just an average BB team and going to the series is but a dream,

The Metropolitans suck this year. They tease me by going to the World Series and they are back to their old sucky ways again. I just hope they finish .500 this year. ack! pooey!

The best team in baseball....

is my own Seattle Mariners. The record speaks for itself...consider we have not lost a road series and have not lost 3 games in a row all year. If we lose a playoff series this year it will be a fluke because as it satnds so far nobody plays better.
