Anyone been listening to anything new lately? I'm itching to find a new musical style to add to my collection. I've been in a rut lately.

Anyone own any celtic music? traditional scottish? I listen to Silly Wizard, the Tannahill Weavers, and the Chieftains. Whom else do I need to seek out?

Jazz... I own none at all, yet there is so much out there. Whats a good starting point? Charlie Parker?, eclectic jazz fusion,? old masters or new age? I don't know where to begin.

Since you recently stocked up on Hawaiian music, I have no suggestions to add to that collection :D For jazz, have you heard of Jane Monheit?

New music I'm listening to is Michael Buble, Nickelback, Evanescence ...

No I have not. What type of music genre does she fit in?

Speaking of my Hawaiian CDs... I really should have picked up at least one Kukuhi (sp?) Lopakas mom) CD while I was there. She was really cool.

No. I can't find anyone that is carrying the full selection of them. All I've seen over the last few months are single copies of old albums.

I found that for anything older than Pioughd almost always means Amazon. I lucked out and found Hairway to Steven at a mom-and-pop music store in Paso Robles, but everything else I've had to go to Amazon for.

Any Acepella? I think the spelling is close. No music just their voices doing it all is what it is.

I just bought (gasp!) yes, bought "Get Born" by Jet and "Legion of Boom" by Crystal Method.

Jet looks and sounds like a 70's rock band, most notable for their song on the iPod commercial "Are you gonna be my girl?". Overall the album is pretty good, the fast songs are better than the slow.

Crystal Method is, well, Crystal Method. What you would expect from them with a few songs with singers and more electric guitar. For what it is, it's pretty good.

Next purchase is a Missy Elliot CD, I don't know which one. They all have songs I like. Otherwise, most of the new music out there is crap.

;) If the music is that good, I'll buy it. Problem is, there is so much out there that isn't, and you wind up buying a whole CD for one good song. I was going to do what Ku'u is doing with the iTunes service, haven't gotten around to it yet.

I was in Borders bookstore and they have the listening stations so I got to hear the two albums before I bought them. If I wasn't able to listen to the whole CD, I wouldn't have bought it. And I saved $2.00 from what I would have paid on Amazon, not to mention shipping costs.

If the artist is good, I want to reward them by buying their work, even if I already stole it online. :D Which I don't, of course. Cus that's illegal.

Yup, that's why I like iTunes, you have the option of only buying that one song ... of course, it's much easier if a friend on the network has already bought the song, then all I have to do is connect to the server ... :spin:

I have no idea!
Well, it's not new (but anything you're not familiar with is new to you) but do you have any Stanley Jordan? Diana Krall? If you want to experience something unusual, you might look for some Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys (old, but so am I).

Ku'u, are you familiar with Rockapella? They cook!
