Do you hold them?

More importantly, how long until you get over them?

I do my best to let it go. At the moment it takes days or weeks dependin on the person. A good "forgive me" generally cleans the sheet...

depends on what that person did...and who that person is. Somebody I already dislike has a harder time making things allright again than somebody I love :)

I usualy let them go after a while. I guess I am just foregiving like that or something. It ends up getting me in a LOT of trouble though...lots of heart ache cause of that.

First of all, because my perspective is based on the forgiveness that's been given to me by God, in Christ, my statement is as follows..........

My times of feeling anger or hurt towards another, from having received some act of wrong or betrayal, by them, whom I've trusted, or been in subjection to, are so few, and so much shorter than in my youth, because I believe, we're all weak and capable of doing the very thing, we say we dispise. I look at all the folks in my life, knowing they're just as frail as I am. I fail those I love and/or care about, all the time. I'm no better, no stronger than they are.

My ex-wife is a perfect example of someone who seems to live to punish me for her own disappointments, (from my view), but my God is bigger than her or me, and He wants all folks to know how willing He is to forgive and show them His unconditional love.

Anyway, what's the point of harboring an attitude of "punishment" and unforgiveness towards those in our lives who have hurt or betrayed us?

We ourselves, do not become "better people", because we have spent so much energy holding out for their "repentence" and denying them our forgiveness, as though WE are so much more "righteous" than they are.

Aren't we all sick of "self-righteous" folks?

Then why are we so willing to accept the idea that we are above those, whose naked depravity is made obvious to all?

I say, we tell ourselves this lie, that WE deserve MORE than those who let us down, since WE have made "sacrifices" to not be "like" them, who have disappointed us..........

Its a deception........

I believe we're just in denial.

We all just wanna feel a greater sense of "significance", I think, before this "Unknown God"............ or ourselves...........a greater sense of "worthiness".

To me............a "grudge" is NOT worth its price.

I'd rather leave this planet, as one known for being "real", or at least, realistic.

Peace!:)
