Are you still crunching.

Noticed your not on the PF team anymore. Are you crunching for a new team? Seti has a new credit system " CreditNew, or CreditScrew " as they say, that pisses me off so I have been on MilkyWay starting this week. Keep getting Computing Errors on a older system that has a AMD 6670 HD in it. There forums are less helpful than what I am used to over at Seti.

So is the internet hook up like that episode of Seinfeld where they never show up. So Cramer makes them wait all day? LOL

Finally got my i7 5820 temps down. I thought I had an issue with the Azetek 550LC. I cleaned the processor and plates up, too much thermal paste. Re applied and I was still hitting 80C running MilkWay with the side of the case off. Took one of my older systems apart and got out a Antec 120mm I bought a few years back and replaced the fan on the radiator. That was it! At 1100rpm I finally only get as hot as 63C when crunching. I was getting worried, because nothing was OC'd yet.

Finally got it to under 65c at full load. Don't really like the 2 piece block setup for the liquid cooler. Makes it hard to seat it right. BTW, just picked up another MSI Armour 2x GTX 980 OC from amazon for $250, SLI here I come!

I think that water cooler, same as the corsair just had too much factory TIM applied. I played with a few different amounts and finally got it where I want it. Ended up putting 2 140mm fans in a push/pull setup on the radiator. That helped instead of just pulling. Doing some app_config tests on MW settings and found the GPU can crunch 20wu at once every 12 min. A single wu takes 40 seconds, so its not really worth crunching more than one, it can do 30 singles in the same 12 min. That's a bummer.

I was moving some stuff around in the pc case for better air flow and had to lay it on its side, both side actually. When I got done and got the system fired back up temps went really high, 90C!! Tapped on the CPU cooler where the pump is and temps started falling. Do you think may be its just air in the system and I got it stuck in the block part, or maybe the pump wasn't moving right. Temps are now back in the 50's under full load, but I'm stumped and a little worried if the pump is failing or not. I forgot to look in CPUID at the time to see the rpm of the pump, usually 1500-1600rpm, where it is now.
